Directions to the Bandroom

If you would like to join us at a rehearsal please get in touch first as we'd hate for you to turn up and not have an instrument or any music to play! The Bristol East & Kingswood Band's headquarters and rehearsal facilities are at Wesley Memorial Church, St George. The Church is virtually at the end of the Kingsway on the A431, upper Bristol to Bath road. The Band rehearses in a room under the Church Hall (approached from the rear of the Church) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday evenings. A secondary rehearsal evening is normally Monday evenings but this can vary according to the time of year and other commitments. At the end of the M32 turn left onto Temple Way and get in the left hand lane and follow signs for the A420 Chippenham. This will take you around a one way system at Old Market up to Lawrence Hill roundabout on the ring road. Still following signs for the A420 you will go through Redfield along Church Road. Go straight through the traffic lights at St Georges Park (the Fire Engine pub is on the right) and continue on Church Road until you reach a fountain where the road forks left, towards Kingswood and right towards Hanham. Take the right fork Follow this road for approx half a mile down the hill and up the other side and you will reach a set a traffic lights with a Texaco garage on the left. Go straight through these lights and Wesley Church is about 100 yards on the right. The bandroom is at the back of the church. To get there go through the main gate along the side of the church and turn right, through the gate and down the steps. The bandroom is down the next set of steps through the brown door. If you intend to travel by bus, catch the 44 or 45 from the city centre and get off at the Kingsway, just past the Texaco garage. Both buses follow the above route.

Sponsorship Details

Being a registered charity, the band has traditionally been a self-funding organisation relying on member subscriptions and
revenue generated from engagements and an annual band fete to meet overheads and to provide instruments to members.
The band is therefore keen to supplement its income by seeking a sponsorship/partnership agreement with a local business.
For a relatively small part of a company's PR / sponsorship budget, some or all of the following benefits may apply:

THE COMPANY would have the opportunity to be involved in a high profile commitment to an arts organisation in
the local community;

The name of the band could change to the COMPANY'S BRISTOL EAST BAND;
The COMPANY LOGO could be incorporated into uniforms, banners, letterheads and website;
All posters and publicity would bear the COMPANY LOGO and new name of the band;
The band play widely throughout the South West of England and various venues abroad and would carry
the COMPANY NAME & LOGO where ever it played;
The band would perform exclusively for company events, or to promote a new product / service, etc.

These are just some of the benefits available through a sponsorship/partnership agreement.
We would be only too happy to discuss your exact requirements.

If you are interested in such an agreement, please contact the band secretary (details above).
